Energy Australia has launched a solar home bundle with no cost.

As part of a 7-year energy plan, Australian energy provider EnergyAustralia has launched a solar home bundle. Aussies are actively seeking renewable energy alternatives as electricity bills are tipped to rise by up to 18% across Queensland, NSW, and South Australia entering the new financial year.

EnergyAustralia is set to launch the Solar Home Bundle on Monday which will provide eligible homeowners with a solar and battery system installed and managed by EnergyAustralia with no upfront costs as part of a 7-year energy plan.

Homeowners who take up the offer will receive a solar system that includes tier-one rooftop solar panels, an inverter, and a 10.1kWh battery.

What are the benefits of the Solar Home Bundle?

EnergyAustralia will install a solar system, tier 1 solar panels, an inverter, and a battery that is suited to customers’ homes.

EnergyAustralia manages power supply by automating the delivery of electricity from the grid, solar, and battery.

The average cost of 20kWh per day for a household of four is estimated to be $6.94 by EnergyAustralia with an estimated average of $211 per month.

The usage rate for EnergyAustralia’s fixed-rate plan varies depending on your location.

After the seven-year energy plan expires, the homeowners will own the solar inverter, panels, and battery system.

Depending on the household size and location, controlled load, daily supply, and other rates and charges may vary.

An early exit fee is required if the Solar Home Bundle is canceled early, as noted by EnergyAustralia.

The amount of the early exit fee depends on when the customer leaves or is deemed to have left in comparison to when the 7 year contract term would have otherwise expired, as well as the value of the system advised at the time of application. This program is based on income eligibility.

Eligibility For Solar Home Bundle

The Solar Home Bundle applies to select areas of NSW for residential customers who live and own the property and use more than 16kWh worth of power.

Victoria power saving bonus program commences

The Victorian Government has announced a gas roadmap to drive down power bills and cut carbon emissions through the use of electrification, hydrogen, and biomethane.

“Gas is no longer the cheap fuel it once was,” said Victorian Energy Minister Lily D’Ambrosio.

“We know renewables are the cheapest form of energy and we’re making it easier for Victorian households and businesses to go all-electric with more choice and more support,” Ms. D’Ambrosio said.

For too long, Victorians have had to rely on private gas companies, it’s time to put gas on the back-burner as we help Victorians cut energy bills and halve emissions by 2030.

Households in Victoria can save up to $1,020 a year on their energy bills by electrifying and up to $1,250 if they install solar panels.

How To Apply

You can visit the Victorian Energy Compare Website to apply for the new $250 Power Saving Bonus from 1 July 2022.
